FAQs

Here, we aim to address any queries you might have about our tours and the trike. Whether you're a seasoned rider or new to the world of three-wheeled machines, we've compiled a comprehensive list of answers to common questions to assist you in making informed decisions.

What do I wear for the tour?

What we require of you is;

  • fitted clothing for the ride,
  • jackets are advisable as it can become quite cool in the bushy countryside,
  • eye protection, i.e. sun glasses preferably with lanyard so that they can’t fly-off,
  • you can bring a hat or hair scarf, but please secure from wind pressure,
  • you can bring a phone or camera but suggest lanyards so that they can’t fly-off,

We take no responsibility for items lost overboard... we will endevour to help retrieve lost items where possible.

NO SMOKING on the ride and no rubbish dispersed over the side, we do care about our environment.

How safe is the trike?

We are fully insured. The trike is a fully certified and licensed vehicle through NZTA - they have particular requirement. The category is a sports car. It’s also fully registered.

The machine has a low center of gravity. Making it a safe and enjoyable way to see the country side. It has good tires, good traction and a good operator. Everybody is fully secure with a lap and shoulder seatbelt - just like in a car.

So sit back and relax and enjoy the ride.

Do we wear a helmet?

As the Trike is registered as a car, there is no lawful requirement to wear crash helmets, if you supply you can wear.

I can’t walk. Can I do the tour?

If you can stand on your own, the operator can help you in and out of the trike. There’s room for a walking stick, but unfortunately there is no room for a wheelchair.

Are there lunch stops?

There is a coffee break stop for our 1 hour tours.

If its a long tour, we do stop for lunch.

For our 4 hours tours or longer, we provide the lunch.

Are there toilet stops?

We can stop when requested. You’ll also have toilet access during the coffee or lunch stops.

How fast can we go?

Like all road users, the speed limits in New Zealand are set for our safety. The fastest we can go is 100 kmph. You will still get to experience the delivery the V8 boasts.

Can we take photos?

The Trike Tour offers a unique viewing platform. Whilst traversing the country side you have unrestricted views... pending the rotational aspect of your neck, photos on the go are achievable!

We recommend having a lanyard for the camera or phone as a security. There will be wind pressure and the occasional bump that can cause  you to drop your phone or camera. The same for your sungalsses.

We can stop for photos. There is a balance that will deliver a joyful package and wind in the hair!

For those who need it, there are USB ports to charge your phone or camera - just bring your own lead.

Can the tour be filmed?

If you bring a mini SD card along, we can pop it in our GoPro, film the ride and return the SD card.

What if I book then it’s raining on the day?

We only reimburse when the weather does not permit a safe and enjoyable experience.
